Native name

[edit]

Please have a look at WP:INDICSCRIPT. Also, please don't add Odia scripts to articles that have nothing to do with it. For example, neither the script nor the language of the Hathigumpha inscription is Odia. utcursch | talk 05:53, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have already been warned against adding Indic scripts, but have continued to do so, contrary to WP:INDICSCRIPT - This can also be seen as language warring. Future additions may simply be reverted as vandalism - Arjayay (talk) 11:38, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In certain articles Indic language has already been added. In The native name section it's already been added. By the way native name is the Indic language name ,this will increase popularity of the page also. Most of the people get the page in English. I'm just adding a link to native name wikipedia. This will increase readability even by a person who is poor in English. What about other Indic language articles? The native names are also written in respective scripts. I don't find any problem. I'm not adding unnecessary words or phrases. I'm only adding native names.
The guideline is very specific - I have not reverted your use in infoboxes, only in the article - although, as noted above - you have been including this in some irrelevant articles.
You have also been language warring - as at Roman Catholic Diocese of Berhampur where you removed the Hindi script from the infobox. As the national language, Hindi is allowed in infoboxes in addition to any local language(s).
If you wish to link to Odisha Wikipedia articles - this is done using language links in the left-hand column, using WikiData links, NOT by using Odisha script in the English language Wikipedia.
Finally, we NEVER accept the argument that the rules have been broken elsewhere, as a reason to continue breaking them, we are trying to improve the encyclopedia, not make it worse - please see WP:Other stuff exists - Arjayay (talk) 12:18, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Arjayay, please remember that India does NOT have a National Language. So, your assertion on Hindi being the National Language of India is false. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 18:18, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
